BIOGRAPHY
Formed in Hamilton, New Zealand in 2005, Antagonist AD wasted little time in establishing themselves as one of the southern hemisphere's most abrasive hardcore acts.
After a slew of well-received local shows brought them to the attention of 1157 Records (home to New Zealand greats such as DSM, Balance and The Bleeders), Antagonist AD continued to tour their homeland in way that few others could match. With the release eventually finding the group an Australian home in the form of Trial And Error Records, the Kiwi five-piece was able to tour the land down under with everyone from The Red Shore and Most Precious Blood (USA), through to Break Even, Have Heart (USA) and Parkway Drive.
Released in 2008, Antagonist AD's sophomore effort - We Are The Dead - saw the band's combination of metallic riffing and socially aware lyrics step up significantly, with the response to both the record and the outfit's subsequent shows increasing dramatically.
Further tours followed with acts as diverse as Earth Crisis (USA) and the specially reformed Day Of Contempt through to House VS Hurricane and Comeback Kid.
Currently in the midst of a European tour with Aussies 50 Lions and Victory Records' act Grave Maker, Antagonist AD will be releasing a new 7 inch titled Old Bones through Trial & Error this October, with their third full-length set to follow in early 2011.
