HEADWRECK

Since their explosive introduction in 2021, Brisbane Nu-Metal quartet Headwreck has continued to “carve their own unique mark in the Australian alternative music community” (Good Call Live, 2024.). The group, made up of vocalist Connor Hickman, guitarist Jamo Benadie, bassist Dayne Paix, and drummer Colby Horton, have locked down their signature glitch-heavy sound, making each release feel authentic, while still appealing to fans of heavy-acts the likes of Moodring, Linkin Park, Northlane, and Make Them Suffer, through soaring melodic choruses and low-tuned guitars.

The debut single Freefall (2021) gave us a small, yet impressive, taste of what Headwreck was capable of, and upon the release of their first EP Glamourise Demise the same year, the quintet began making some serious noise, landing feature spots on Triple J Unearthed, and selling out all physicals within only 48 hours.

Headwreck entered their second wave in 2023, releasing their sophomore EP Reflection Room. In 2024, they came back to annihilate with the chaotic single Buzzsaw, which garnered over 100,000 streams in two months and earned television features on both Channel 7 AFL, and Rage. With a refreshing DIY rebrand at the forefront of the band’s third-wave, Headwreck propelled themselves to new heights with back-to-back singles Buzzsaw, and Low Blow, both of which earned spots as Rage feature videos, and newest single Plan Z, creating a powerhouse trio of releases that have added an almost half-a-million streams to the bands already impressive discography.

Through all of this time, Headwreck has also become an unmissable live act, showcasing their dominating live show on nationwide stages, and landing on lineups amongst bigtime heavy-hitters We Came as Romans, Paledusk, The Story So Far, Thornhill, and Invent Animate. In early 2025, they joined fellow Aussies Windwaker on the Hyperviolence Australian tour, with Thousand Below and Diamond Construct for a run of six massive shows across the country, and in March, Headwreck tackled their biggest show yet, supporting US heavyweights Erra and Silent Planet at iconic Brisbane venue, The Tivoli.
