From their humble beginnings busking on the streets of Dublin, to becoming one of Ireland’s most celebrated live acts, Hothouse Flowers have built a career defined by soul, spontaneity, and spirit. After being discovered by U2’s Bono in the mid-80s, the band’s rise was meteoric. Their 1988 debut People topped the Irish charts and peaked at #2 in the UK, driven by the timeless single “Don’t Go” still their most streamed song to date.

Their sound is a genre-spanning experience blending rock, folk, gospel and traditional Irish music into something uniquely their own. Every performance is unpredictable, collaborative, and bursting with energy, where any member might lead a song, and no two shows are ever the same. “It’s soul. Celtic Soul. Hothouse Flowers are Celtic Soul,” wrote Scottish Music Network and that couldn’t be more true.

Whether they’re delivering powerhouse anthems or reimagining classics like "I Can See Clearly Now" (as featured in The Grand Tour’s unforgettable intro), Hothouse Flowers embody a deep connection between audience and artist. Their latest album Let’s Do This Thing (2020) continues to prove that after 40 years, the fire is still burning strong.
