Texas indie folk and psychedelic rock luminaries Midlake are heading back to Australia in March 2027, marking their first headline shows on Australian soil in over a decade.

Formed in Denton, Texas in 1999, Midlake have spent more than a quarter-century crafting some of the most enduring, evocative, and atmospheric music in modern folk-rock. Known globally for landmark releases such as The Trials of Van Occupanther and The Courage of Others, the six-piece will return Down Under for the first time since 2014 to celebrate their sixth studio album, A Bridge To Far.

Recorded at Denton’s Echo Lab and produced alongside Sam Evian, A Bridge To Far captures Midlake operating at their most authentic and self-assured. Rooted in themes of hope, perseverance, and emotional connection, the record balances the band’s hallmark lush harmonies and intricate arrangements with renewed creative momentum.

Lead single "The Ghouls" ignited the band's latest chapter, accompanied by standout tracks including "The Calling", "Days Gone By", and "Guardians". The album also welcomes vocal contributions from Grammy-nominated songwriter Madison Cunningham, Hannah Cohen, and Meg Lui.

"The reference and inspiration is Midlake," frontman Eric Pulido explains. "This album is less about sounding like someone else and more about sounding like us."
