Shoegaze pioneers Chapterhouse will tour Australia for the first time ever in February 2027, celebrating the 35th anniversary of their landmark debut 𝑾𝒉𝒊𝒓𝒍𝒑𝒐𝒐𝒍. The band will perform the album in full, alongside a selection of classics and fan favourites.

Whirlpool arrived in 1991. It was made with Cocteau Twins’ Robin Guthrie and became one of the defining records of the genre, later ranked #17 on Pitchfork’s list of the best shoegaze albums of all time. Its follow-up, Blood Music, has since been reappraised as a visionary blend of rock and electronica and has influenced artists across the electronic world.

The band split in 1995. A one-off festival appearance in 2008 turned into a full reunion the following year, with tours across the UK, US and Japan, years before the wider shoegaze revival took hold.

Thirty-five years after the record that helped shape a genre, Chapterhouse are finally bringing that sound to Australian stages.
