Joining Ben Kweller on his Australian run next week are Brisbane's SUPER HOTEL — and if you haven't heard them yet, now is the time. The indie-folk-country-rock outfit have been turning heads with national spins on triple j and ABC Country, and their sound is something genuinely hard to pin down: jangly, loose-limbed, and unmistakably Australian.
Fronted by Emily Simms, whose quirky, highly observational lyrics are a key component of their sound, the band's mid-tempo compositions, "slacker grooves" and unpretentious live shows have seen them heralded by triple j.
The band released their self-titled debut EP in early 2026 via Sonic Sherpa Records/Flippin Yeah Records, bringing to an end a challenging run that saw them encounter grief, medical malpractice, major injuries, and a flooded caravan home during the recording process.
