Scottish indie icons Belle and Sebastianannounce Australian Tour

Performing If You’re Feeling Sinister in full + fan favourites

BelovedScottish indie pop group Belle and Sebastian have announced their returnto Australia to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their seminal album If You’re Feeling Sinister.
Heading to Melbourne, Sydney,Brisbane and Perth in September, the highly revered seven piece willperform the album in full alongside fan favourites from their stellarcatalogue.

Belle and Sebastian helped define a generation of indie pop with their quietly radical sound. Considered pioneers of the twee pop genre, the band became knownfor their intricate, 60’s inspired arrangements.  With their charming, nostalgic sound characterised by frontman StuartMurdoch’s introspective lyrics, the band offered an alternative to thebravado of Britpop.

Their sophomore album If You’reFeeling Sinister  has grown to becomea cult favourite. With tracks like “Get Me Away From Here, I’m Dying”, “Seeing Other People”,and “Judy and the Dream of Horses”, the album was praised by The Guardian as “subtly poetic, wickedly funny, and gorgeously melodic”. Pitchfork recently honoured thelauded album’s anniversary with a re-review, scoring it a rare 10, describingit as “marvelous” and “cult-forming” with “exquisite literary andmusical detail”. Rolling Stone also placed the album at No. 75 on their 100 Best Albums of the Nineties list and No. 481 ontheir 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list.

Praised as a “thoroughly impressivelive band with an arsenal of songs that will always leave audiences wantingeven more” (Volume Media), Belle & Sebastian create a stage dynamicthat’s “both chaotic and utterly captivating" (Backseat Mafia).
