Revered 4x Platinum selling, 3x ARIA Award-winning and 18x ARIA nominated singer, songwriter, musician and producer Sarah Blasko (she/her) today announces the national Double Feature Tour this September & October as part of her anniversary plans in celebration of 21 years of making records in 2025. The Double Feature Tour will take audiences back to where it all began, with Blasko performing her two seminal albums - the critically acclaimed debut The Overture & the Underscore (2004) and commercial breakthrough follow up What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have (2006) - in their entirety, together with her long-standing live band, David Hunt, David Symes, Laurence Pike and Neal Sutherland.

Presale begins at 11am local time this Friday 13 June, with general on sale to follow 11am local time on Tuesday 17 June from sarahblasko.com.

Sarah Blasko is also excited to share that The Overture & the Underscore and What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have will be released on vinyl for the first time ever on September 5. Both albums are pressed to 2LP gatefold, with The Overture also including the B-sides ‘Flame Trees’, ‘Into The Great White Open’, ‘Fall Down’, and ‘Long Time’, the secret track that closed out the record. Pre-orders are live now from HERE.

The Overture & the Underscore saw Blasko come out the other side of a turbulent time of upheaval and step into the light to claim her identity - so others knew, yes, but it was mostly for herself - in a personal growth moment that extended to What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have. This record was her big surrender: to loss, to nature, to that in life which we can’t control. Both records grew with hindsight to become intrinsically connected, they are Blasko’s defining albums on which she created the space to find her feet and figure herself out, and in turn built the scaffolding for what was to come over the next two decades. With a career now spanning seven solo albums, two albums with Holly Throsby and Sally Seltmann as Seeker Lover Keeper, music compositions for two Bell Shakespeare productions and the likes of Sir Elton John counted amongst her fans, Sarah Blasko continues to be as expansive as she is prolific, writing songs that strike with rare immediacy, clarity and purpose.

While listening back to the test pressings of The Overture, and reflecting on the artwork, songs, and the album’s sentiment, it crystallised for Sarah Blasko that even as a young artist on the brink of releasing her debut she knew that she wanted “to do this for a long time. I am, in a way, quite proud of my younger self for knowing that this career is what I wanted, and that I was setting that up for myself without even realising.”

Across a discography of seven solo albums - I Just Need To Conquer This Mountain (2024), Depth of Field (2018), Eternal Return (2015), I Awake (2012), As Day Follows Night (2009), What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have (2006) and The Overture & the Underscore (2004) - and two albums with Holly Throsby and Sally Seltmann as Seeker Lover Keeper - Seeker, Lover, Keeper (2011) and Wild Seeds (2019) - four albums have reached Platinum Sales Status with six debuts in the ARIA Top 10. Sarah Blasko is a three-time ARIA Award winner, 18x ARIA Award nominee, has won the J Award for Australian Album of the Year, and three-times shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize. Her cover of Cold Chisel’s ‘Flame Trees’ (2004) had a resurgence when it was featured in Season 2 of Netflix’s Heartbreak High, spawning a remix by Cub Sport released last June. Sarah Blasko composed the music for Bell Shakespeare’s productions of Twelfth Night (2023) and Hamlet (2008), Sydney Dance Company’s Emergence (2013), has been praised by the likes of Sir Elton John on his visit to James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke.
