UK Brit-pop music legends SQUEEZE announce a return to AustraliaTried, Tested and Trixies Tour - April 2027

British legends Squeeze announce a return to Australia in April 2027 as they bring their Tried, Tested and Trixies Tour to Australia, celebrating 53 years of classic songwriting and standout music hits from one of the UK's pioneers of Brit-pop music.

Founded in 1974 by Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, Squeeze are one of pop's best-loved bands with a catalogue of sky-high classics such as 'Up the Junction', 'Tempted', 'Cool for Cats', 'Another Nail in My Heart' and 'Labelled with Love', whose live shows are legendary and, as The Guardian wrote, "pop perfection".

Speaking about the tour, Glenn Tilbrook said, "We are so excited to be coming back to Australia! We have never sounded better and it feels special to be bringing this new show to all our Australian fans. It's going to be amazing to show off songs from our new album Trixies and, of course, all the hits and some surprises. Looking forward to getting down there in April 2027."

Squeeze remain one of the most revered and distinctive music outfits in UK pop history. Led by the unparalleled songwriting duo Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford, their legacy spans over five decades of masterful songwriting, stellar live performance, and cultural impact; between 1978 and 1996 they had no fewer than 11 singles in the UK Top 40, with six in the Top 20. Many more of their songs have been woven into the very fabric of the British songwriting tradition - alongside those of The Beatles and The Kinks - influencing everyone from Lily Allen to The Killers.

Squeeze released their new album, Trixies, in March 2026. Their first album in eight years but the first they ever wrote, Trixies is a collection of stories set in a fictional night club written by the teenage Difford (19) and Tilbrook (16) at the very start of their songwriting partnership. The only problem with these songs was that, back in 1974, the musical vision of the young creators exceeded their virtuosity.

Fifty years on, and having rediscovered the original cassette, that problem no longer exists for the band who have played more than 600 shows since reuniting in 2007. So what better way to mark 50+ years of Squeeze than to complete the circle and realise the vision they had for Trixies back in the 70s? Now this precocious opening volley of songs - under the guiding production hand of Squeeze's bassist Owen Biddle (The Roots, John Legend, Al Green) - finally gets to enjoy its moment in the spotlight.

Coming to Australia will be Glenn Tilbrook, bassist Owen Biddle, percussionist Steve Smith, keyboardist Stephen Large, drummer Simon Hanson, guitarist Leon Tilbrook and backing vocalist Danica Dora.
